The Durrell Lecture 2017
REWILD OURSELVES: REWILD OUR WORLD
Thursday 23rd November 2017
venue sponsored by THRIVE Renewables
THRIVE’S mission is to power the transition to a sustainable energy future by helping people meaningfully connect with clean energy projects. We do this by reaching out to likeminded individuals that care about our planet and the environment. As part of our outreach, we are supporting the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust this year.
Durrell is an international charity with a mission of "saving species from extinction", especially those animal species that are under-threat and overlooked.
‘Supporting the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust Lecture is important to THRIVE as we very much value the work they do. Our purpose is to allow individuals to invest directly into tackling climate change through the construction and operation of cleaner and smarter energy solutions like renewable energy.
Climate change and loss of habitat are the number one threats to global biodiversity, we are pleased to be able to support Durrell in this common cause. Through the contribution of renewables and other low carbon generation the UK’s electricity has become 28% less carbon intensive over the last 5 years. We are moving in the right direction, but for the benefit of ourselves and the species we share the Earth with, we must accelerate progress.” Said Matthew Clayton, MD Thrive Renewables.
