Thrive Renewables connects people to sustainable energy. We offer accessible opportunities for individuals and businesses to invest in clean energy projects that deliver financial, environmental and social rewards.
We are delighted to announce our next AGM will be held at the Centre for Sustainable Living in Manchester on the 22 June 2018. This special event brings together our shareholders to talk about Thrive’s results, meet with the board and management team, and vote on key decisions around the company’s future.
Over 400 individuals raise an impressive £2.8m in just two weeks to refinance the Mean Moor community wind farm in Cumbria. It’s thought to be the first wind farm in the country to be transferred to community ownership from a commercial developer.
With over 22 years in the industry we have a wide network of professional contacts and are constantly on the look out for new projects which will enhance our portfolio, match our investment criteria and generate the returns we seek for our investors.
With a pipeline of great projects set to go we're ready to raise the money needed to invest. This may be through the issue of new shares, a secured bond or traditional project finance. Whatever the source, we're delighted to have long standing relationships with our community of shareholders, professional investors and banking providers. And, of course, we're pleased to welcome new investors at any time too.
With the investment complete we work with established and trusted partners to ensure the project is smoothly transitioned to its new owner, and for new projects, that it's built safely, on time and within budget so the site can be generating electricity and revenue as early as possible. Our projects are all around the UK and, wherever it is feasible, we try to use local contractors.
As soon as the project passes to its new owners or becomes operational it will be generating clean electricity to the local electricity network or directly to local businesses. All of the projects we invest in will keep generating for decades of its operational life during which time we manage the site carefully, commercially and sensitively. We consider things like the ecology of the site and aim to be a good commercial neighbour to communities nearby with open days, community benefit programmes and educational initiatives.
Through the profitable operation of our projects, growth in the portfolio and good management of the company we strive to achieve a healthy return for all our investors - financially and socially. The Annual General Meetings we hold are genuinely engaging, giving shareholders an opportunity to meet and talk with our Board and team, often with a visit to one of our projects which their investment has made possible.
