Our 1.5MW turbine was originally developed in association with TechnipFMC and is hosted at their facility at the Pitreavie Business Park in Dunfermline. The turbine provides renewable energy for their round-the-clock operations with additional electricity being fed out into the local grid to be used wherever there is demand.
The on-site generation allows TechnipFMC to better manage and forecast future energy costs on their Dunfermline site. As an established and respected local employer we are pleased to be able to support their work and maintain local jobs.
In 2016 we were delighted to approve a grant application made by Heart and Sound in Dunfermline to our community benefit programme. The funding has allowed them to replace traditional light fittings with energy efficient LED lighting and to install energy saving hot water points in the building where they run a charity providing opportunities for young people to learn and experience a range of creative media such as film and sound recording.
