Kessingland wind farm
4.1 MW wind project at the centre of a thriving wildlife park
Project summary
When we acquired Kessingland in 2010 we were excited about its location for more than one reason. Not only does the project benefit from proximity to North Sea winds, but it’s also constructed in the middle of a wildlife park! We really enjoyed working with the owners of the wildlife park to incorporate educational facilities for their many visitors to learn about renewables. The project, which is just five miles from our Ness Point turbine, started generating renewable energy in 2011. Thrive sold the project in 2019, while the turbines continued to generate clean power under new owners.
