Powering the UK’s largest supplier of organic potatoes
We funded the construction of an onshore wind turbine in Cambridgeshire to power local business, Greenvale AP.
As a leading supplier of fresh potatoes, Greenvale AP is committed to sustainability and had worked with a specialist developer to gain the necessary planning permission and grid connection for a new 1.5MW wind turbine that would supplement its existing solar PV system.
We provided the funding required for construction and agreed the terms around the lease and supply of clean electricity, which provides as much as 75% of Greenvale’s demand from the abundant local, renewable wind resource. As a result, Greenvale can better manage their operational costs, differentiate themselves in a competitive market and, importantly, maintain the local jobs provided at the facility.
