Taking home the gold at the inaugural UK Green Business Awards!

  • Posted: 12 Jul 2023

We joined over 400 people in London to celebrate progress within the green economy.

After nearly 15 years running as the ‘BusinessGreen Leaders Awards’, BusinessGreen – the UK’s leading media source for information on the green economy – revamped its awards programme in 2023 to better reflect the growing sector and the breadth of organisations and projects working to establish change.

Now aptly named the ‘UK Green Business Awards’, several new categories have been introduced to celebrate the changing face of British business. Hosted in the Leonardo Royal Hotel in St Paul’s, London, opening speeches from BusinessGreen editor-in-chief, James Murray, and Shadow Climate Change and Net Zero Secretary, Ed Miliband, were followed by announcement of the winners and highly commended businesses…

And we’re extremely proud to confirm that we won – and against some very tough competition! Also shortlisted in our category were Coutts, EQ Investors, Foresight Group, Gresham House BSIF strategy, Tribe Impact Capital, Triodos Investment Management, WHEB Asset Management and Church Commissioners for England. Big congratulations to these brilliant businesses for all their work building a fairer and more sustainable future for the generations to come, and to BusinessGreen for an inspirational evening!

“Every day we’re reminded of the fragility of the world around us. We’re proud to play a part in the UK’s decarbonisation journey, having been funding and building clean energy projects since 1994. As well as our own team, we’d like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to our business, community and project partners who help us achieve our mission of connecting more people to clean energy. Now more than ever, we must work together to deliver a just transition which benefits both people and planet.” – Monika Paplaczyk, Investment Director, Thrive Renewables
